Support our work for Resilient Communities!

Your gift will be matched and will enable us to empower citizen leaders in 40 metro communities to include climate resilience and equity in their city’s comprehensive plans (a once in a decade opportunity!), expand community solar, protect water quality, engage faith communities and grow sustainable local food systems.

Your gift will help us launch our new

Resilient Cities Coalition 

in March 2019 with 40 cities and multiple collaborating organizations we will
  • re-convene city staff, commission volunteers and elected leaders from 40 cities to
  • share their priorities for implementing the energy and resilience goals they included in their cities’ new 20-year comprehensive plans and
  • launch (or join) multi-city teams to pass local and state policies and do projects with residents, businesses and partners to meet their 2025 and 2050 goals to
  • power our cities with 100% clean electricity produced locally or in MN
  • build or retrofit our new and existing buildings to save money and add comfort,
  • move to equitable low-carbon transportation systems that add choice and convenience, while cleaning our air and improving safety through transit investment, shared-mobility, inclusive transit-oriented development and walk-able communities.

Community Solar Gardens
We are bringing congregations, businesses and communities together to organize community solar gardens, which allow all Minnesotans (even if they don’t have access to solar) to save money through locally-produced solar energy that creates local jobs and builds the economy.  Sign up to learn how to join our solar garden at:
Water Stewards
We matched trained volunteer Master Water Stewards with congregations, neighborhoods, lake groups, schools and Environmental Commissions to help them plant rain gardens to protect our lakes and creeks in partnership with the Fresh Water Society. http://allianceforsustainability.com/waterstewards
Engaging Congregations in Sustainability
We support volunteer teams in congregations to through our lively networking events for volunteers to share their successful solar, rain garden, community garden and energy efficiency projects in eight clusters of congregations. http://allianceforsustainability.com/congregations
Model Local Sustainable Food Systems
Through the Community Table Cooperative we support African-American, Latino, Hmong, immigrant and other farmers to increase sales by forming co-ops to supply affordable, healthy food to corner stores. http://allianceforsustainability.com/communitytable
