Mount Olivet Members and the community are invited to attend this dinner event with Paul Douglas, well-known and respected meteorologist with more than 35 years of TV and radio experience in the Twin Cities area. Paul will discuss Caring for Creation, a book he co-authored with Pastor Mitch Hescox. Connecting the dots between science and faith, he will show how Christians can take the lead in caring for God’s creation that reflect our beliefs. The Alliance for Sustainability is supporting

citizen volunteers in in 40 metro communities active with green teams in congregations, neighborhoods, schools and City environmental commissions to partner with their City Councils and city staff to help their cities set and achieve together community-wide energy, resilience and sustainability goals, including:

  • Achieving MN Green Step Cities best practices
  • Including resilience and sustainability themes in their Comprehensive Plans
  • Engaging residents and businesses to take action to achieve city goals on to energy, active living, healthy food access, water quality, and zero waste with our nonprofit, county, and watershed district partners

We offer regular workshops/networking gatherings for city staff, city environmental & planning commission volunteers, elected leaders, and citizen volunteers to share their successes and lessons.

Please contact us so we can connect you with other Alliance volunteers who live in your city and explore ways to build your community and advance sustainability within your community.

Our volunteer coordinators in each county are available to support new and existing volunteer teams to plan their next steps.
